Heart Math is a program developed by the Heart Math Institute. It incorporates the use of the breath, imagination, and self awareness to develop resiliency and reduce stress. Patients are taught different techniques involving deep breathing, focusing on positive emotions, and physical relaxation with an aim to develop coherence in one’s own heart rhythms. It typically is practiced with a biofeedback machine and or video biofeedback software. It may be beneficial for patients who are currently being treated for stress, anxiety, depression, performance anxiety, anger, chronic fatigue, ADHD, chronic pain, and or sleeplessness. It is not a substitute for recommended medical therapy but can be a supplement and beneficial to improve quality of life.
I loved the bodywork component that went into the Japanese style of acupuncture that Dr. Trowbridge practices.
Dr. Trowbridge is a great balance of integrative medicine, with her MD education and holistic care background and personal lifestyle.
Highly recommend! Very knowledgeable and intuitive in offering acupuncture. Cozy and inviting space.
After just a few visits my arthritis pain has become manageable. I am very pleased.
